Tocqueville Acquires Poplar Forest

On February 13, 2025, Tocqueville Asset Management announced its acquisition of Poplar Forest Capital.

Tocqueville Asset Management (“Tocqueville”) announced on February 13, 2025, that it acquired Poplar Forest Capital (“Poplar Forest”). Poplar Forest founder, Dale Harvey, will become a Tocqueville shareholder and member of Tocqueville’s management committee. Further terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Tocqueville, based in New York, is a fee-only, registered investment advisor providing wealth management services to high-net-worth individuals and institutions. As of February 2025, Tocqueville had approximately $9.36 billion in regulatory assets under management.

Poplar Forest Capital, based in Pasadena, California, is an investment management firm offering long-term investment management services. As of February 2025, Poplar Forest had approximately $1.3 billion in regulatory assets under management.
