On April 25, 2024, Oaktree Capital Management announced that it is spinning out its transportation infrastructure business to Duration Capital Partners.
Oaktree Capital Management (“Oaktree”) (NYSE: OAK) is spinning out its $3.6 billion transportation infrastructure business to Duration Capital Partners (“Duration”), a new firm run by two former Oaktree managing directors. When the transaction is complete, Oaktree will own a roughly 25 percent stake in Duration. Duration is awaiting approval to be a registered investment adviser with the SEC. Further terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Oaktree, based in Los Angeles, is an alternative investment manager that specializes in credit strategies for institutional clients, including insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, and pension plans. As of March 2024, Oaktree had $192 billion in assets under management.
