Wafra to Acquire Stake in Digital Colony

On July 13, 2020, Colony Capital, Inc. announced an agreement where Wafra Inc. will acquire a minority stake in Digital Colony.

Pursuant to the agreement, Wafra Inc. (“Wafra”) will acquire a minority stake in Digital Colony (“Digital”). Digital is the digital investment management division of Colony Capital, Inc. (“Colony”). In addition to acquiring the stake in Digital, Wafra will also make capital commitments to Digital’s current and future investment products. Wafra’s total investment in Digital is expected to be over $400 million. Further terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Colony, based in Los Angeles (NYSE: CLNY), is a global investment firm. Colony has over $50 billion in assets under management.

Digital, based in Florida, is a digital infrastructure investment firm. Digital has over $20 billion in assets under management.

Wafra, based in New York, is a global alternative investment platform. Wafra has approximately $25 billion in assets under management. Wafra was advised by BofA Securities as exclusive financial advisor.
