VanEck to Acquire Think ETF Asset Management

On January 22, 2018, VanEck announced an agreement to acquire Think ETF Asset Management B.V.

Senior management of Think ETF Asset Management will retain a minority stake in the company, with the remainder to be controlled by VanEck. The transaction is expected to close at the end of this year, subject to regulatory approval. Berkshire Hathaway acted as financial advisor to the selling shareholders.

Think ETF Asset Management is a Dutch ETF issuer with approximately €1.5 billion in assets under management.

VanEck is a New York based global asset manager offering active and passive investment portfolios in hard assets, emerging markets equity and debt, precious metals, fixed income, and other asset classes. As of December 31, 2017, VanEck managed approximately $46 billion in assets.
