Union Bancaire Privée to Acquire ABN Amro Swiss Unit

On August 16, 2011, Union Bancaire Privée, UBP SA and ABN AMRO Bank N.V. announced an agreement whereby UBP will acquire ABN AMRO Bank (Switzerland) AG for an undisclosed amount.


On August 16, 2011, Union Bancaire Privée, UBP SA and ABN AMRO Bank N.V. have announced an agreement whereby UBP will acquire ABN AMRO Bank (Switzerland) AG in a cash transaction.  ABN AMRO Bank (Switzerland), a Swiss private bank servicing retail, private and commercial clients, has approximately EUR 11 billion in assets under management.  UBP is a Geneva, Switzerland-based bank with approximately CHF 60 billion in assets under management which focuses on asset management.  The transaction, the financial terms of which are not disclosed, is subject to closing conditions and regulatory approvals.  The transaction is expected to be complete in the fourth quarter of 2011.
