The Colony Group to Merge with Mintz Levin Financial Advisors

On May 30, 2012, Focus Financial Partners announced that its partner firm, The Colony Group, had entered into an agreement with Mintz Levin Financial Advisors under which MLFA will be merged with and into Colony. 

On May 30, 2012, Focus Financial Partners announced that its partner firm, The Colony Group, had entered into an agreement with Mintz Levin Financial Advisors under which MLFA will be merged with and into Colony.  Colony, a Focus partner firm since October 2011, is a Boston-based registered investment advisory firm providing investment and wealth management services to corporate clients, retirement plans, charitable foundations, and high net worth individuals and families.  Mintz Levin Financial Advisors, also based in Boston, is a registered investment advisory firm affiliated with Boston law firm Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C.  Together, the firms will manage approximately $2.5 billion in combined client assets.  Silver Lane acted as financial advisor to Mintz Levin Financial Advisors in connection with the transaction.  The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
