On July 25, 2018, Tages announced an agreement to purchase a stake in VAM.
Under the terms of the agreement, Tages Group (“Tages”) will purchase an initial 34% stake in VAM Investments (“VAM”) with the ability to increase its stake to 100% and Tages shareholder, Francesco Trapani will purchase a 15% stake in VAM and become its Executive Chairman. Marco Piana, founder of VAM, will remain CEO. In addition, over the next three years, shareholders and Managing Partners of VAM, Piana Palazzo and Giuliano have the possibility of becoming shareholders of Tages. Further terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Tages, based in London and Milan, is an alternative investment firm that specializes in seeding, acceleration capital, and other alternative asset solutions. Tages has €47 billion in assets under management.
VAM, based in Milan, is a private equity firm that specializes in buy outs and growth capital.
