Summit Partners Acquires Majority Stake in Adviser Investments

On February 3, 2021, it was announced that Summit Partners, L.P. acquired a majority stake in Adviser Investments, LLC.

According to regulatory filings, Summit Partners, L.P. (“Summit”) acquired a majority stake in Adviser Investments, LLC (“Adviser”) on December 31, 2020. Adviser founders and certain employees continue to hold a minority state in Adviser. Seward & Kissel client New York Private Bank & Trust’s Fiduciary Network exited its previously-held minority stake in Adviser. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Summit, based in Boston, Massachusetts, is a registered investment advisor that functions as a private equity firm, specializing in growth equity, fixed income, and public equity in the technology, healthcare and growth products sectors.

Adviser, based in Newton, Massachusetts, is a registered investment advisor. Adviser has approximately $7 billion in assets under management.
