StormHarbour Buys Stake in Asuka Asset Management

On June 24, 2014, Asuka Asset Management Co., Ltd. announced that StormHarbour Capital Advisors UK Ltd. would purchase 49 percent of its shares.

On June 24, 2014, Asuka Asset Management Co., Ltd. announced that StormHarbour Securities would acquire 49 percent of Asuka’s shares. StormHarbour, a global investment bank, will acquire Asuka’s newly issued shares through StormHarbour Capital Advisors UK Ltd., a subsidiary of StormHarbour Partners LP. After the transaction, Asuka will be 51 percent owned by Asuka Holdings Co., Ltd. and 49 percent owned by StormHarbour. In exchange for the shares, the owners of Asuka Holdings will acquire a portion of StormHarbour Partners LP’s partnership interest and StormHarbour Partners GP LLC’s membership interest. As a result of the transaction, Asuka will undergo restructuring of certain subsidiaries and affiliates and will gain access to foreign investors. The structure of the fund’s investment team will remain the same. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
