On September 6, 2017, financial authorities confirmed that Samsung Securities and Caldera Pacific will acquire 40% of Dragon Capital, Vietnam’s largest asset manager.
Under the terms of the transaction, Caldera Pacific will be a general partner with a 30% stake in Dragon Capital, and Samsung Securities will own 10% of Dragon Capital as a limited partner. Following the transaction, Samsung Securities and Caldera Pacific will be Dragon Capital’s second largest shareholder.
Founded in 1994, Dragon Capital is Vietnam’s largest asset manager, with approximately, US$900 million in assets under management. Its investments include public and private equities, fixed income and real estate.
