On June 3, 2025, Sammons Financial Group announced its definitive agreement to acquire Wealthcare Capital Management.
Sammons Financial Group (“Sammons”) announced, on June 3, 2025, its definitive agreement to acquire Wealthcare Capital Management (“Wealthcare”) from NewSpring Holdings (“NewSpring”). Wealthcare will join Sammons’ existing portfolio and maintain its existing team and name. Further terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Sammons, based in West Des Moines, Iowa, is an employee owned financial services company offering life insurance, annuities, and wealth management solutions. Sammons’ portfolio firms have approximately $115.6 billion in total assets. Berkshire Global Advisors represented Sammons in the transaction.
Wealthcare, based in Richmond, Virginia, is a registered investment advisor offering financial advisory services, investment solutions, and technology-driven portfolio strategies. Wealthcare has approximately $8 billion in assets under management. Republic Capital Group represented Wealthcare in the transaction.
NewSpring, based in Radnor, Pennsylvania, is a private equity firm offering growth and expansion capital, investment strategies, and operational expertise to middle-market companies. NewSpring manages approximately $3.5 billion across its strategies.
