On May 24, 2017, Pollen Street Capital and MW Eaglewood Ltd. announced a merger through a share-for-share exchange.
The new firm will be named Pollen Street Capital (“New Pollen Street”) and will focus on specialized lending assets. The current Pollen Street Capital (“Existing Pollen Street”) will be the majority shareholder, with Marshall Wace Group, an equity holder in MW Eaglewood Ltd. (“Eaglewood”), acquiring a significant stake in New Pollen Street.
Eaglewood staff will transition to New Pollen Street, with the managing partner of Existing Pollen Street, Lindsey McMurray, leading the new entity. New Pollen Street will continue to oversee P2P Global Investments PLC, currently managed by Eaglewood, and Honeycomb Investment Trust PLC, currently managed by Existing Pollen Street. The merger is expected to close later this year, subject to regulatory approvals.
Existing Pollen Street is a private equity manager, founded in 2013, when the private equity team of the Royal Bank of Scotland created an independent investment firm.
Located in New York, New York, Eaglewood is a private credit manager and an affiliated investment manager of the Marshall Wace Group.
