ORIX Acquires Robeco from Rabobank

On February 15, 2013, Reuters reported that Orix Corporation (NYSE: IX) will acquire Robeco, a Dutch asset manager, from Dutch bank Rabobank in a cash and stock deal for approximately 240 billion yen ($2.6 billion).

On February 15, 2013, Reuters reported that Orix Corporation (NYSE: IX) will acquire Robeco, a Dutch asset manager, from Dutch bank Rabobank in its biggest acquisition ever.  Orix will pay Rabobank approximately 240 billion yen ($2.6 billion) in cash and stock.  Orix will not issue new shares for the transaction.  Following the transaction, Rabobank will hold an approximately 2% stake in Orix, and will retain a 10% stake in Robeco.  As of September 30, 2012, Robeco‚Äôs asset under management totaled approximately $251 billion.  Orix is an integrated financial services group headquartered in Japan, with operations in 28 countries and regions.  The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
