On September 5, 2023, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board announced a major investment in Seven Investment Management.
Under the terms of the transaction, the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Fund (“Ontario Teachers”) has acquired a majority stake in Seven Investment Management (“7IM”) from Caledonia Investments Plc. Further terms of the deal were not disclosed.
7IM, established in 2002 and headquartered in London, is an investment management firm that provides retail investment management services, products, and technology. 7IM has approximately £21 billion in assets under management.
Ontario Teachers, based in Canada, is a global investment fund specializing in investments in a range of assets including commodities, natural resources, and private equities. Ontario Teachers manages approximately $250 billion in assets.
