Paul Hechmer has launched del Rey Global Investors, LLC, an asset management firm investing principally in international and global equities, with funding from venture capital firm Northern Lights Ventures.
Paul Hechmer has launched del Rey Global Investors, LLC (“del Rey”), an asset management firm investing principally in international and global equities. Hechmer, a 15-year veteran of the asset management business, was previously a founding partner of Tradewinds Global Investors, an affiliate of NWQ Investment Management Co., where he managed the firm’s international portfolios and co-managed the global portfolio. Funding for del Rey will be provided by Seattle based Northern Lights Ventures LLC (“NLV”), which invests in boutique asset management firms. The new firm will employ four related investment strategies, which according to its press release, include:
- International Equity, typically focusing on companies with great than $1 billion in market capitalization;
- International Equity ADR has a similar focus to International Equity, but invests exclusively in the American Depository Receipts (ADRs) of foreign equities;
- Global Equity; which utilizes a similar investment process and includes US-based companies; and,
- Global Equity ADR, which uses ADRs to execute the firm’s Global Equity strategy.
