Mercer to Acquire BFC Asset Management

On January 16, 2018, Mercer announced its acquisition of BFC Asset Management.

Mercer Global (“Mercer”) has acquired BFC Asset Management Co., Ltd. (“BFC”) in Japan for an undisclosed sum and BFC will operate as a subsidiary of Mercer. Further terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Mercer, a wholly owned subsidiary of Marsh & McClennan Companies, is an investment advisory and consulting firm based in New York that specializes in investment consulting for pension funds, insurance companies, banks, and other investors. Mercer has over $200 billion in assets under management as of September 30, 2017.

BFC, founded in 2006, is an independent alternative asset manager based in Japan that specializes in investment advice and financial planning services.
