Maverick Capital to Invest in Start-Up Hedge Funds

On July 21, 2011, Bloomberg.com reported that Maverick Capital Management LP, an $11 billion investment firm, is looking to seed start-up hedge fund managers.


On July 21, 2011, Bloomberg.com reported that, according to an SEC filing made on July 15, 2011, Maverick Capital Management LP has allocated $22 million to Maverick Seed Partners LP, indicating that it plans to invest in start-up hedge fund managers.  Maverick, an $11 billion New York-based investment firm run by Lee Ainslie, is allocating money to new managers in exchange for a share of fees as seeding grows in the industry.  Additional details were not disclosed.
