On December 14, 2020, MAI Capital Management, LLC announced its partnership with Smith Capital Management, Inc.
Under the terms of the agreement, MAI Capital Management, LLC (“MAI”) partnered with Smith Capital Management, Inc (“SCM”). Senior partners of SCM, Stephen Chaffin and Jay White, will become regional managing directors at MAI. Further terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
MAI, based in Ohio, is an independent registered investment adviser specializing in comprehensive investment and financial planning for high-net-worth individuals and families. As of November 30, 2020, MAI had more than $8.4 billion in assets under management.
SCM, based in Arkansas, is a $500 million manager that serves high net worth clients, offers financial counsel to foundations and oversees the management of corporate retirement plans.
