MAI Acquires Service Academy Capital Management

On June 1, 2026, MAI Capital Management announced its acquisition of Service Academy Capital Management.

MAI Capital Management (“MAI”) announced, on June 1, 2026, its acquisition of Service Academy Capital Management (“Service Academy”). Under the terms of the transaction, which closed on May 29, 2026, Service Academy joined MAI’s ultra-high-net-worth division. Further, Service Academy founder Brian Sears retained his position as investment advisor and senior managing director in the transition to MAI. Additional terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

MAI, based in Cleveland, Ohio, is a registered investment advisor offering wealth management and family office services. MAI has approximately $77.3 billion in assets under management and advisement.

Service Academy, based in Dallas, is a registered investment advisor serving ultra-high-net-worth clients. Service Academy oversees approximately $734 million in client assets.
