On November 11, 2021, Lockton Companies Inc. and Creative Planning, LLC announced their partnership.
Under the terms of the transaction, Lockton Companies Inc. (“Lockton”) will partner with Creative Planning, LLC (“Creative Planning”). The business will be called “Lockton Retirement Services, an Offering of Creative Planning.” As part of the transaction, Lockton will take an equity position in Creative Planning. The transaction, subject to customary closing conditions, is expected to close before the end of 2021. Further terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Lockton, headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, is a private insurance brokerage firm that provides risk and insurance services for clients.
Creative Planning, headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas is an independent wealth management firm that provides retirement planning, trust services, estate planning, tax advice, family office, and financial planning led investment management services to individuals along with 401(k) and institutional money management. As of November 3, 2021, Creative Planning had approximately $100 billion in assets under management.
