On June 21, 2023, Seward & Kissel client Kudu Investment Management, LLC announced that it had acquired a minority stake in Martis Capital Management, LLC.
Under the terms of the transaction, Kudu Investment Management, LLC (“Kudu”) acquired a minority stake in Martis Capital Management, LLC (“Martis Capital”). Seward & Kissel served as counsel to Kudu, with a team comprised of Partners Danielle Lemberg, Meir Grossman, Anne Patin, Counsel Mike O’Brien, and associates Katherine Agoglia, Noga Benmor-Piltch, Brett Cotler, Bradley Fay, Stephen Marks, Elyse Moy, and Winzell Steele. Further terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Kudu, based in New York, is a registered investment adviser providing long-term capital solutions. Kudu specializes in minority equity investments in asset management firms, wealth management firms, and pooled investment vehicles in the United States and internationally. Kudu affiliates collectively have $74 billion in assets under management.
Martis Capital, based in San Francisco and Washington, DC, is a healthcare-focused private equity firm. Martis Capital has over $2.1 billion in assets under management.
