Kudu Makes Minority Investment in GenTrust

On July 28, 2022, Seward & Kissel client Kudu Investment Management, LLC announced it acquired a minority stake in Seward & Kissel client GenTrust, LLC.

Under the terms of the transaction Kudu, Investment Management, LLC (“Kudu”) acquired a passive minority interest in GenTrust, LLC (“GenTrust”). Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Seward & Kissel served as counsel to both Kudu and GenTrust, with a Kudu team led by partner Jim Abbott and counsel Danielle Lemberg and a GenTrust team led by partners Craig Sklar and Gary Anderson and counsel Dora Pulido.

Kudu, based in New York, is a registered investment adviser specializing in minority equity investments in asset management firms, wealth management firms, and pooled investment vehicles in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada. Kudu’s partners include TIG Advisors, Versus Capital and Fair Oaks Capital.

GenTrust, based in Miami, is an investment management firm serving ultra-high net worth individuals, families, and institutions. Together with its affiliates, GenTrust manages approximately $3 billion in assets.
