Kudu Acquires Minority Stake in First Long Island Investors

On July 29, 2019, Kudu Investment Management, LLC announced it had acquired a minority stake in Seward & Kissel client First Long Island Investors, LLC.

Under the terms of the transaction, Kudu Investment Management, LLC (“Kudu”) will have a passive minority interest in First Long Island Investors, LLC (“First Long Island Investors”). Further terms of the deal were not disclosed. A Seward & Kissel team led by partners Craig Sklar, Gary Anderson and associates Dora Pulido, Warren Samlin and Maryanne Liu served as legal adviser to First Long Island Investors, and Sandler O’Neill & Partners, L.P. acted as financial advisor to First Long Island Investors in connection with the transaction.

Kudu is a New York-based investment advisor that provides permanent capital solutions to asset and wealth managers. Kudu’s partners include B|O|S, TIG Advisors, Versus Capital, Fair Oaks Capital and together they manage approximately $19 billion in AUM for both institutional and individual investors.

First Long Island Investors is a wealth management company based in Jericho, New York that specializes in counseling for high-net-worth individuals, families and select institutions in the preservation, growth, and administration of wealth. As of June 30, 2019, First Long Island Investors oversees approximately $1.6 billion in assets.
