Kudu Acquires Minority Interest in Versus Capital

On March 4, 2019, Seward & Kissel client Kudu Investment Management, LLC announced it had acquired a minority interest in Versus Capital Advisors, LLC.


Under the terms of the purchase agreement, Kudu Investment Management, LLC (“Kudu”) was issued a minority stake in Versus Capital Advisors, LLC (“Versus Capital”). Kudu will offer strategic advice while Versus Capital continues to operate the business as well as build out its offerings and expand its investor network. A Seward & Kissel team led by partners Meir Grossman, Jon Brose, and Robert Van Grover, counsel Julia Spivack and Michael O’Brien, and associates Danielle Lemberg, Kristy Choi, Sarah Besson, Brett Cotler, Jay Baroody, Katherine Porter and Bradley Fay represented Kudu in connection with the transaction.

Versus Capital, based in Greenwood Village, Colorado, is an asset manager that specializes in real assets investments using interval fund structures, which are utilized exclusively by registered investment advisors, private banks, and consulting firms. It has approximately $4 billion in assets under management.

Kudu, based in New York, is a registered investment advisor that specializes in minority equity investments in asset management firms, wealth management firms, and managers of pooled investment vehicles in the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada.
