Kovitz Agrees to Acquire Telemus Capital

On January 31, 2024, it was reported that Kovitz Investment Group agreed to acquire Telemus Capital.

Kovitz Investment Group (“Kovitz”) agreed to acquire Telemus Capital (“Telemus”). Both firms are affiliated with Focus Financial Partners (“Focus”). Further terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Kovitz, based in Chicago, Illinois, is a registered investment advisor firm owned by Focus that provides asset management and long-term investment solutions. Kovitz has $7.3 billion in client assets.

Telemus, based in Southfield, Michigan, is a fee-based registered investment advisor firm and Focus partner that provides financial advisory, investment management, and asset management services. Telemus has approximately $3 billion in assets under management.
