Julius Baer Increases Stake in Kairos to 100%

On January 9, 2018, Julius Bear announced an increase to 100% of its stake in Kairos.

Julius Bär Group Ltd. (“Julius Baer”) has increased its stake in Kairos Investment Management SpA (“Kairos”) from 19.9% in 2013, 80% in 2016, to 100% in 2018. Under the terms of the transaction, the consideration for Julius Baer’s additional 20% stake in Kairos is €96 million, subject to closing adjustments, and Paolo Basilico will resume as Chairman and CEO of Kairos.

Julius Baer, founded in 1890 and headquartered in Zurich, is a Swiss private banking group that provides structured products, investment advisory, real estate financing, and other financial services.

Kairos, founded in 1999 and headquartered in Milan, is an investment management firm that provides portfolio management, wealth management, and other financial services. Kairos has €11 billion in assets under management as of 2017.
