Citywire – Deals Database Activity Q2 2026
Citywire published its quarterly analysis of wealth management M&A activity based on its RIA Deals Database for the second quarter of 2026. The report notes that Citywire reported on 52 deals during Q2 2026, consisting of 39 acquisitions, 10 minority investments and three mergers. Acquisition activity in Q2 reflected an average deal size of $3.2 billion, up slightly above the $2.8 billion in Q1 2026, while the median deal size remained unchanged at $1 billion. The report also highlights the continued prominence of private equity within M&A activity, accounting for approximately 70% to 75% of all transactions. Based on year-to-date activity, the report suggests that 2026 is on pace to become a record-setting year for RIA dealmaking.
