iM Global Partners invests in Asset Preservation Advisors

On September 15, 2021, Seward & Kissel client iM Global Partner SAS announced that it has partnered with and received a 42% stake in Asset Preservation Advisors, Inc.

Under the terms of the agreement, Seward & Kissel client iM Global Partner SAS (“iM Global”) received a 42% non-controlling stake in Asset Preservation Advisors, Inc. (“APA”). Terms of the deal were not disclosed. A Seward & Kissel team led by partners Jim Abbott, Gary Anderson, James Cofer and Anne Patin and associate Maria Rivera-Diaz represented iM Global in connection with the transaction.

iM Global is an asset management network focused on acquiring strategic investments in traditional and alternative investment firms in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. As of September 2021, iM Global had approximately $37 billion in assets under management. Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. served as financial advisor to iM Global on the transaction.

APA, based in Atlanta, Georgia, is an independent investment manager, managing high quality tax-exempt and taxable municipal bond portfolios for registered investment advisors, family wealth offices, financial advisors and institutional clients. APA manages approximately $4.8 billion in client assets. Berkshire Global Advisors served as financial advisor to APA on the transaction.
