iM Global Partner to Make Strategic Investment in Scharf Investments

On April 22, 2019, Seward & Kissel client iM Global Partner announced that it had entered into an agreement to acquire a minority investment in Scharf Investments, LLC. Under the terms of the agreement, iM Global Partner (“iM Global”) will acquire a 40% interest in Scharf Investments, LLC (“Scharf”). Terms of the deal were not disclosed. A Seward & Kissel team led by partners Jim Abbott, Gary Anderson, Marlon Paz and Jim Cofer, counsel Dan Bresler, and associates Dora Pulido, Kristy Choi and Jaime Ma represented iM Global in connection with the transaction.

Scharf is a California-based U.S. equity value firm that is independently owned and employee-controlled. It had $3.4 billion in assets under management as of March 2019.

iM Global is an investment and development platform focused on acquiring strategic investments in traditional and alternative investment firms in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. iM Global represented assets under management of $9.6 billion as of March 2019.
