iCapital to Acquire Citi Global Alternatives

On May 13, 2025, iCapital and Citi Global Alternatives announced that iCapital will acquire Citi Global Alternatives.

iCapital and Citi Global Alternatives (“Citi Global Alternatives”) announced, on May 13, 2025, that iCapital will acquire Citi Global Alternatives. Under the terms of the transaction, Citi Global Alternatives will remain the distributor of funds and offer guidance regarding alternative investments to its clients, and iCapital will now manage and operate the fund platform. Further terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

iCapital, based in New York, is a registered investment advisor specializing in offering non-traditional investment products and providing access, education, and research programs to its clients and advisors. As of March 31, 2025, iCapital had approximately $880 billion in platform assets.

Citi Global Alternatives, based in New York, is a registered investment advisor and indirect subsidiary to Citi Wealth that advises Citi Wealth’s global alternative investment fund platform. Citi Global Alternatives specializes in private equity, growth equity, private credit, infrastructure, venture capital, real estate and hedge fund transactions. As of March 28, 2025, Citi Global had approximately $23 billion in assets under management.

Citi Wealth, based in New York, is the global wealth management division of Citigroup, serving affluent to ultra-high-net-worth clients.
