Goldman Sachs’ Petershill Fund Buys Stake in $4 Billion Hedge Fund

Goldman Sachs Group’s Petershill Fund Offshore bought a minority stake in Level Global Investors LP, a hedge fund managed by David Ganek.

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (“Goldman Sachs”), through its Petershill Fund Offshore LP (“Petershill”) private investment fund, purchased a minority interest in Level Global Investors LP (“Level”). Level employs an investment strategy which bets on rising and falling stock prices throughout the global market. Under the terms of the deal, Petershill will remain a passive investor without any management or decision-making role.

Level’s David Ganek, in a letter to clients, stated that the proceeds from Goldman Sachs’ investment would be used to help locate and retain top investment talent.
