GAM Holding to Acquire Taube Hodson Stonex

On May 16, 2016, GAM Holding AG announced that it will acquire Taube Hodson Stonex, a UK-based global equity investment firm.

The acquisition of Taube Hodson Stonex Partners LLP (“THS”) will result in the transfer of approximately £1.78 billion in assets to GAM Holding AG (“GAM”). THS’ Principals, Cato Stonex, Mark Evans, Robert Smithson and Ali Miremadi, along with its investment team will join GAM’s offices in London as part of the transaction. The purchase is expected to close in the third quarter and is pending regulatory approval.

GAM is a Switzerland-based global asset management firm specializing in management of long equity, alternative and fixed income investment. GAM delivers investment management services to institutions, intermediaries, private clients and charities. As of March 31, 2016, GAM had approximately $119.8 billion in assets under management.

THS is a UK-based global equity investment firm which has been a sub-adviser to GAM’s global equity strategies.
