Focus Financial to Sell Majority Stake to Stone Point and KKR

On April 19, 2017, Focus Financial Partners agreed to sell a majority stake to Stone Point Capital and KKR.

Stone Point Capital and KKR agreed to acquire a 70% ownership stake in Focus Financial Partners (“Focus”). Per the transaction, the valuation of Focus is approximately $2 billion. Selling shareholders include Centerbridge, two of Focus’ other private equity investors, Summit Partners and Polaris Partners, as well as other individuals and Focus’ affiliates. Focus’ senior management team will continue to lead the business and retain equity following the transaction. Further terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Focus is an eleven year old registered investment adviser. Focus has 45 partner firms.
