Focus Completes Four Mergers for Partner Firms

On October 20, 2015, Focus Financial Partners, LLC announced merger deals for three of its partner firms: Buckingham Asset Management, JFS Wealth Advisors and Summit Financial Wealth Advisors.  

Focus Financial Partners, LLC (“Focus”) is an international partnership of independent wealth management firms. It provides resources and continuity planning for partner firms who serve individuals, families, employers and institutions with wealth management, benefit and investment consulting services. Each of the following partner firm mergers closed as of October 1, 2015:

Buckingham Asset Management (“Buckingham”) completed two mergers, with advisor Connie Brezik and with Zerke Advisors, Inc. (“Zerke”). This allows Buckingham to expand into the northwest United States through Ms. Brezik’s Casper, Wyoming operations, while the deal with Zerke, based in Houston, Texas, will add to Buckingham’s Texas client-base.

JFS Wealth Advisors (“JFS”), located in Hermitage, Pennsylvania, merged with Comprehensive Investment Solutions, LLC (“CIS”). All CIS employees will join JFS. Additionally, JFS will expand its geographic presence in Pennsylvania, bringing the number of JFS offices in the state to five. 

Summit Financial Wealth Advisors (“Summit”), based in Lafayette, Louisiana, merged with FPL Asset Management (“FPL”). FPL’s founders, Kenneth Vines and Louis Ray, became partners, and the remaining four employees are full-time staff at Summit.
