Evercore Wealth Management Acquires Morse Williams

Evercore Wealth Management has acquired Morse, Williams & Co. and in a related transaction became the investment adviser to The Wall Street Fund, a $12 million mutual fund.

Evercore Wealth Management (“Evercore Wealth”) announced the acquisition of Morse, Williams and Company, Inc. (“Morse Williams”) and in a related transaction became the investment adviser to The Wall Street Fund (NASDAQ: WALLX).  The terms of the transactions were not disclosed.

New York-based Morse Williams is an SEC registered investment adviser that manages roughly $190 million for clients, families, and related institutions.  The Wall Street Fund, a $12 million mutual fund, aims to achieve capital growth through diversified stock investments.  Evercore Wealth partners’ Robert Morse and Tim Evnin, will co-manage the fund.

Evercore Wealth, a subsidiary of boutique investment bank Evercore Partners, Inc. founded in November, 2008, had $1.7 billion in assets under management as of March 31, 2010 and is looking for more expansion opportunities in the U.S. and elsewhere.
