Emigrant Partners Acquires Minority Interest in Stratos Wealth

On April 1, 2020, Stratos Wealth Holdings, LLC announced that Seward & Kissel client Emigrant Partners, LLC had acquired a minority investment in the firm.

Under the terms of the agreement, Emigrant Partners, LLC (“Emigrant”) was issued a minority stake in Stratos Wealth Holdings, LLC (“Stratos”). Terms of the deal were not disclosed. A Seward & Kissel team led by partner Jim Abbott, counsel Robert Wood and associates Moira Maresky and Diane Lee represented Emigrant in connection with the transaction.

Stratos, headquartered in Beachwood, Ohio, is comprised of a family of companies. It collectively advises $14.5 billion in brokerage and advisory assets. Raymond James and Associates acted as exclusive financial advisor to Stratos on the transaction.

Emigrant is a New York based capital and advisory services partner that specializes in making non-voting, minority investments into wealth and asset managers. It and an affiliate are currently partnered with 15 firms that oversee approximately $50 billion in assets under management and assets under advisement.
