On May 27, 2020, Pure Financial Advisors, Inc. announced a minority stake investment by Seward & Kissel client Emigrant Partners, LLC.
Pursuant to the terms of the transaction, Emigrant Partners, LLC (“Emigrant”) was issued a minority stake in Pure Financial Advisors, Inc. (“Pure Financial”). Terms of the deal were not disclosed. A Seward & Kissel team led by partners Jim Abbott and James Cofer, counsel Robert Wood and associate Diane Lee represented Emigrant in connection with the transaction.
Pure Financial is a fee-only registered investment advisor that specializes in retirement planning and tax-optimized investment management. It has over $2.4 billion in assets under management. The Asset & Wealth Management group of Raymond James Investment Banking represented Pure Financial on the transaction.
Emigrant is New York based capital advisory services partner that specializes in making non-voting, minority investments into wealth and asset managers. It and an affiliate are currently partnered with 17 firms that oversee approximately $55 billion in assets under management and assets under advisement.
