ECHELON Partners LLC published a Report for RIA M&A Deals for Q1 of 2024 (the “Report”), analyzing M&A activity among Registered Investment Advisors. The Report shows that there was an increase in the number of transactions in comparison to Q1 of 2023, making it the second most active first quarter on record. Private equity was involved in a majority of the reported transactions. Additionally, RIA assets transacted increased relative to the last quarter, highlighting strategic buyers’ continued emphasis on larger deals as well as recent strong equity market performance.
