Dyal Capital Acquires Minority Interest in Chenavari

On October 7, 2015, Dyal Capital Partners announced its acquisition of a minority interest in the controlling company of Chenavari Investment Managers.

Dyal Capital Partners (“Dyal”) is a private equity fund that is managed by investment manager Neuberger Berman Group LLC (“Neuberger Berman”). Neuberger Berman is a private, independent, employee-owned investment manager that manages equities, fixed income, private equity and hedge fund portfolios, and as of June 30, 2015, has assets under management totaling $251 billion.

Chenavari Investment Managers (“Chenavari”) is a group of diversified alternative asset management companies focused on credit, structured finance, real estate and private debt strategies, and had approximately $5.4 billion in assets under management as of September 1, 2015.

Chenavari will retain complete control over its own operations and investment process under CEO and co-CIO Loïc Ferry. Chenavari’s existing shareholders will continue to control the vast majority of the firm’s economic interests. Dyal’s interest will have no governance oversight.

The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
