On August 17, 2022, Creative Planning, LLC announced an agreement to acquire Wipfli Financial Advisors.
Under the terms of the transaction, Creative Planning, LLC (“Creative Planning”) will acquire Wipfli Financial Advisors (“Wipfli Financial”). Creative Planning will also acquire Wipfli Financial's retirement plan services group and online investment platform, Avid. The transaction is expected to close pending customary regulatory approvals. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Creative Planning, based in Overland Park, Kansas, is an independent wealth management firm. As of December 31, 2021, Creative Planning had approximately $225 billion in assets under management or advisement.
Wipfli Financial, based in Milwaukee, is a financial planning firm. Wipfli Financial is the wealth management affiliate of the consulting and accounting firm Wipfli LLC. Wipfli Financial was advised on the transaction by Ardea Partners LP.
