On April 15, 2025, Creative Planning announced its acquisition of Monterey Private Wealth.
Creative Planning, LLC (“Creative Planning”) announced on April 15, 2025, that it acquired Monterey Private Wealth, Inc. (“Monterey”) in a transaction that closed on March 31, 2025. Under the terms of the deal, Monterey will continue working with its same clients. Further terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Creative Planning, based in Overland Park, Kansas, is a registered investment advisor that provides financial planning, investment management and retirement planning services. As of December, 2024, Creative Planning had approximately $354 billion in assets under management.
Monterey, based in Monterey, California, is a registered investment advisor offering personalized financial planning and investment management services to high-net-worth families, independent women, retirees, business owners, executives and nonprofit organizations. As of March 2025, Monterey has $1.04 billion in assets under management. ECHELON Partners served as the exclusive sell-side financial advisor to Monterey.
