Focus Financial Partners Inc. announced, on July 16, 2024, that it entered into a definitive agreement under which its fellow firm, The Colony Group (“Colony”), will acquire its partner firm, Gratus Capital, LLC (“Gratus”). The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2024. Further terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Focus, based in New York City, is a partner of fiduciary wealth management and financial services firms providing partners with resources and continuity planning.
Colony, based in Boston, is a registered investment advisor providing financial advisory, wealth, and business management services. As of July 2024, Colony had over $21 billion in assets under management.
Gratus, based in Atlanta, Georgia, is a registered investment advisor that provides investment advisory, financial planning services, and wealth management services. As of May 2024, Gratus had over $2.7 billion in assets under management.
