Colony Capital Acquires Digital Bridge Holdings

On July 25, 2019, Colony Capital, Inc. announced that it had acquired Digital Bridge Holdings LLC.

Under the terms of the agreement Colony Capital, Inc. (“Colony”) will acquire Digital Bridge Holdings LLC (“Digital Bridge”) for $325 million which is comprised of 2/3 cash and 1/3 units of partnership interest in Colony. The equity is subject to a lock up which will expire on each of the next three anniversaries of the deal. Following a transition period, Marc C. Ganzi, CEO of Digital Bridge, will become the CEO of Colony, succeeding the current CEO, Thomas J. Barrack, Jr. who will return to his position of Executive Chairman. Further details of the deal were not disclosed.

Colony (NYSE: CLNY) is a Los Angeles based investment management firm specializing in healthcare, industrial and hospitality property sectors, various real estate and other equity and debt investments, with approximately $40 billion in assets under management.

Digital Bridge is an operator of companies specializing in mobile and internet connectivity companies that has nearly $20 billion in assets under management.
