On January 24, 2022, Colliers announced an agreement to invest in Basalt Infrastructure Partners LLP.
Under the terms of the transaction, Colliers acquired a 75% stake in Basalt Infrastructure Partners LLP (“Basalt”) from its founders and another investor. Basalt’s senior leadership will continue to own 25% of the equity and continue to lead the firm after the transaction is completed. The transaction, subject to customary closing conditions and approvals, is expected to close in the second half of 2022. Further terms were not disclosed.
Colliers (NASDAQ and TSX: CIGI), based in Toronto, is professional services and investment management company with $46 billion of assets under management.
Basalt, based in London, is investment management firm specializing in middle-market investments in the utility, transportation, energy, and communications sectors. Basalt has approximately $8.5 billion of assets under management. Berkshire Global Advisors provided financial advice to Basalt on the deal.
