Channel Capital Undertakes Management Buyout Supported by Kudu

On November 9, 2020, Seward & Kissel client Kudu Investment Management, LLC announced that it is supporting Channel Capital Pty Ltd.’s management buyout.

Under the terms of the agreement, Channel Capital Pty Ltd. (“Channel”) will buy out its current minority equity partner, Highbury Partnership, with financing from Kudu Investment Management, LLC (“Kudu”). Kudu will also provide additional capital to Channel and will own a passive, minority interest in the business. The transaction is expected to close in November 2020. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Channel is an Australian multi-affiliate investment management company that provides incubation, operations, distribution, marketing and entity services to investment management companies and their clients. It has over A$16 billion in assets under management. Berkshire Global Advisors served as exclusive financial advisor to Channel on the transaction.

Kudu, based in New York, is an independent provider of long-term capital solutions to asset and wealth managers. Kudu now has 14 partners that collectively invest $75 billion on behalf of clients worldwide.
