Carlyle to Acquire CBAM

On March 9, 2022, Carlyle Group Inc. announced an agreement to acquire CBAM Partners.

Under the terms of the transaction, Carlyle Group Inc. (“Carlyle”), will acquire CBAM Partners (“CBAM”) for a price of approximately $787 million. Carlyle will fund the purchase through a combination of cash from its balance sheet and a new issuance of shares of common stock. The deal is expected to be completed in the first half of 2022, subject to customary closing conditions. Further terms were not disclosed.

Carlyle (Nasdaq: CG), based in Washington, D.C., is an investment firm operating across a range of industries. As of December 31, 2021, Carlyle had over $301 billion in client assets under management.

CBAM, based in New York, is a registered investment adviser with $15 billion of assets under management. BofA Securities is providing financial advice to CBAM on the transaction.
