Capmark’s Stake in Real Estate Fund Sold for $12.7M

On May 18, 2011, Law360.com reported that a bankruptcy judge had approved the sale of Capmark Financial Group Inc.’s management stake in a $1 billion  real estate debt investment fund to Normandy Real Estate Partners.


On May 18, 2011, Law360.com reported that a bankruptcy judge had approved the sale of Capmark Financial Group Inc.’s management stake in Capmark Structured Real Estate Partners LP, a $1 billion real estate debt investment fund, to Normandy Real Estate Partners.  The fund was previously managed by Capmark Investments LP, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2009, but the fund itself is not a Chapter 11 debtor.  The fund consists primarily of pension funds and institutional investors and invests in complex real estate investments such as mezzanine loans and mortgage-backed securities.
