On May 25, 2023, it was announced that Capital Constellation and Investcorp Strategic Capital Group had acquired a minority stake in MML Capital.
Under the terms of the transaction, Capital Constellation and Investcorp Strategic Capital Group (“Investcorp”) have each acquired an equal minority stake in MML Capital (“MML”). MML will continue to be led by co-CEOs, Bal Johal and Ian Wallis.
Capital Constellation, based in New York, is a private equity group that focuses on alternative asset management firms. Capital Constellation collectively manages approximately $1 trillion in assets under management.
Investcorp, based in Manama, Bahrain, is a global investment management firm specializing in alternative investments. As of June 2023, Investcorp had approximately $50 billion in assets under management.
MML, based in London, is a private equity firm that focuses on providing growth capital to companies in Europe and the United States. As of June 2023, MML had approximately $2 billion in assets under management. Houlihan Lokey served as MML’s financial advisor on the transaction.
