On March 21, 2018, Brookfield Asset Management announced that it will acquire a 25% interest in Link Financial in a strategic partnership.
Brookfield Asset Management Inc. (“Brookfield”) announced that it will acquire a 25% interest in Link Financial Group (“Link”) with the option to acquire another 24.9% interest in the future. Link will continue independent operations under its existing management team. Subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals, the transaction is expected to close next quarter. Further terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Brookfield (TSX:BAM.A) (NYSE:BAM) (Euronext:BAMA) is a global asset manager based in Toronto that specializes in public and private investment products in the real estate, private equity, infrastructure, and renewable power industries. Brookfield has over $285 billion in assets under management.
Link, founded in 1998, is an alternative asset manager based in London that specializes in debt purchasing, SME credit portfolios, consumer loans, and commercial loans. Link has approximately €25 billion of assets under management.
