BNP to Acquire AXA IM

On December 21, 2024, BNP Paribas Group announced that it entered into an agreement to acquire AXA Investment Managers.

BNP Paribas Group (“BNP”) announced, on December 21, 2024, that it had entered into an agreement to acquire AXA Investment Managers (“AXA IM”). Under the terms of the deal, BNP will manage a large part of AXA IM’s assets. The agreed price for the acquisition and long-term partnership is €5.1 billion and the transaction is expected to close mid-2025. Further terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

BNP (OTCMKTS: BNPQY), based in Paris, is a universal bank and financial services holding company. As of November 2024, BNP’s wealth management branch, BNP Paribas Wealth Management, had approximately €456 billion in assets under management.

AXA IM, based in Paris, is a global asset management firm operating as the investment arm for AXA (OTCMKTS: AXAHY), a global insurance and reinsurance company. As of March 2024, AXA IM had approximately €859 billion in assets under management.
